Bethancourt continues power surge

Christian Bethancourt ripped his third homer in two days and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored to extend his hitting streak to 15 games as Mississippi beat Pensacola, 5-3, on Tuesday night.

The Braves' third-ranked prospect is wrapping up his best offensive season as a pro, batting .291/.318/.462 with 11 homers, 18 doubles and 41 RBIs in 76 games.

No. 10 prospect Aaron Northcraft picked up the win, limiting the Blue Wahoos to three runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts over six innings.

Jackson and Montgomery battled for 14 innings before John Hicks scored on an error by third baseman Robby Price to give the Generals a 2-1 victory.

Jabari Blash homered in the victory, while Biscuits starter Victor Mateo allowed a run on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts over 7 2/3 innings.
