Quakes 9-run 8th puts away Storm for series sweep

Rancho Cucamonga, CA-After losing the first two in a three game series against the Los Angles Dodgers affiliate, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, The Lake Elsinore Storm were defeated on Sunday by a score of 12-5, getting swept at Loan Mart Field.

LHP Storm starter Frank Garces tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three runs on three hits while striking out eight batters, taking the loss (7-8) on the night.

RHP Freddie Cabrera tossed five innings while giving up two runs on seven hits and striking out four, picking up his fourth win of the season.

Despite losing 12-5, the Storm out hit the Quakes, 12-10. Three Storm hitters enjoyed multi-game hits including Travis Jankowski (2-for-5, RBI), Bridger Hunt (3-for-5, 3 RBI), Corey Adamson (3-for-4, 2R, 2B, RBI, 2 SB).

Lake Elsinore's offense struggled with runners on base, leaving nine stranded while going 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

The Storm will enjoy a much needed day off Monday as they get ready for a seven game home stand at The Diamond starting on Tuesday as they host the 2012 California League Champion Lancaster JetHawks with a first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. start.
