Power Supplies Williamsport Victory

WILLIAMSPORT - Andrew Pullin and Dylan Cozens each homer in a five run 3rd inning that sparked the Cutters 5-4 win over Jamestown at Historic Bowman Field.

Jamestown would find the scoreboard in the top half of the 1st inning off of Yacksel Rios. Jin-De Jhang grounded out to 1st base with one out in the inning allowing Elvis Escobar to score from 3rd base and give the Jammers a 1-0 lead.

Williamsport flexed their muscles against Dovydas Neverauskas in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Justin Parr got the scoreing started with an RBI ground out to 3rd base that hit the pitcher Neverauskas and allowed Herlis Rodriguez to score from 3rd to tie the game. Andrew Pullin would follow with a solo home run, his 3rd of the season to give the Cutters a 2-1 lead. Neverauskas would walk the next two batters. Dylan Cozens would then crush the Neverauskas offering over the right center field wall to plate Andrew Knapp and Zach Green to make it 5-1 Cutters. The home run was Cozens 7th. Neverauskas would get out of the inning.

Jamestown would get a run back in the top of the 5th inning against Rios. The Jammers would get a sacrifice fly to left field off of the bat of Adam Frazier that would plate Erich Weiss to cut the Cutters lead to 5-2.

Jamestown would make things interesting in the top of the 9th inning as they were able to pull within one run at 5-4 against Jon Musser, who would have to hand the ball over to Tyler Buckley. Buckley would work through some trouble to strikeout the last two batters of the night to get the save and the win for the Cutters.

Williamsport starter would Yacksel Rios went 4.2 innings allowing two runs, both earned, on five hits. Rios walked three and struck out two before being replaced by Jon Musser. Musser would go 3.2 innings of relief, allowing two runs, both earned, on two hits. Musser would walk four and strikeout two while getting his first win with the Cutters. Tyler Buckley worked .2 innings to get his 3rd save of the season. Buckley allowed two hits and a wlak while striking out a pair.

Jamestown starter Dovydas Neverauskas would allow five runs, all earned, on five hits in 4.2 innings of work. Neverauskas would walk five and strikeout two while throwing three wild pitches. Neverauskas would take the loss. Axel Diaz would go 2.1 innings of relief striking out three and not allowing a hit or a run. Jared Lakind would work a scoreless inning of relief while allowing one hit and a walk. Lakind did pick up a strikeout.

Cutters Carvings: Williamsport has hit 43 home runs as a team this season… Williamsport is seven games back of Jamestown in the Wild Card after the win… Tyler Buckley leads the Cutters with three saves…
