Reyes Deals In Cutters Loss
Reyes Go Six Hitless

WILLIAMSPORT - The Cutters were four outs away from a combined no-hitter when the Jammers mounted the comeback to win 2-1 in Jamestown.

Williamsport would break the scoreless tie in the top half of the 7th inning against relief pitcher Will Kendall. Chad Carman reached 1st base on an infield single. Carman would reach 2nd base on the play thanks to a throwing error by the 3rd basemen Erich Weiss. Malquin Canelo would follow with double the left field that would plate Carmen and give the Cutters a 1-0 lead.

Jamestown would spoil the no-hit bid in the 8th inning with two outs when Edwin Espinal lined a single off of the glove of Mark Meadors. Espinal would advance to 2nd on a throwing error by Meadors. Espinal would score to tie the game on an Adam Landecker RBI single. Eric Weiss would score on a throwing error by Chad Carman trying to throw Landecker out at 2nd base to make it 2-1.

Cutters starter Julio Reyes would go six innings of hitless and scoreless baseball. Reyes struck out four batters while walking only one. Reyes handed the ball over to Mark Meadors in the 7th inning. Meadors allowed two runs, both earned, on three hits. Meadors did strike out a batter.

Jammers starter Cody Dickson did not allow a run on four hits. He walked two and struck out five Cutters in five innings of work. Will Kendall would allow one run, unearned, on four hits in two innings of relief. Kendall struck out two. Andy Otamendi struck out the side in his lone inning of relief. Otamendi would get the win. Brett McKinney would walk a batter in a scoreless, hitless 9th inning to get his 9th save of the season

With the loss, Williamsport falls to eight games back of Jamestown in the New York-Penn League Wild Card playoff chase.
