08/28/2013 4:49 PM ET

Baltimore Orioles second baseman and utility player Ryan Flaherty is expected join the Frederick Keys for their final series of the season, which begins Saturday, Aug. 31 and ends on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2.

Flaherty, who is expected to rejoin the Orioles at the conclusion of the Keys' three-game series against Potomac at Harry Grove Stadium, was optioned to Class-A Delmarva Tuesday, Aug. 27, when the Orioles reinstated designated hitter Wilson Betemit, who played four rehab games in Frederick, from the disabled list. Flaherty is expected to play with Shorebirds until Saturday, when he's set to make his Frederick debut. Major League rosters expand to 40 players on Sept. 1.

Flaherty has played 75 games for the Orioles this season, batting .218 with eight homers and 20 RBIs while playing superb defense, primarily at second base. He's committed just two errors as an Oriole this year.

The Keys host Potomac in 6 p.m. games on Saturday and Sunday and in a 2 p.m. game Monday. Fireworks will follow Saturday and Sunday's games and Redskins great and former "Hog" Joe Jacoby will sign autographs during Saturday's game, the Keys' Salute to the Gridiron Night. Sunday features a pregame charity softball contest between Frederick's firefighters and police officers dubbed "Guns & Hoses." Monday is Fan Appreciation Day at Harry Grove Stadium and those in attendance will have the opportunity win signed Orioles memorabilia.

Tickets are available for all three contests. Purchase them online at FrederickKeys.com, by phone at 301-815-9939 or at the box office at Harry Grove Stadium.
