Colorado Rockies SP Roy Oswalt to make Rehab start in GJ

The Colorado Rockies announced today that veteran pitcher Roy Oswalt will make a one-game rehab start this Tuesday, September 3rd in Grand Junction. The 35-year old pitcher started four games for Colorado (7.64 ERA - 17.2 innings, 23-SO, 2-BB) before straining his left hamstring. Oswalt performed his 2nd simulated game at Coors Field on Tuesday. "I'm trying to get back and pitch this year and go from there," Oswalt said. "I'm hoping to come back and start at least four, maybe five games."

Roy Oswalt joined Colorado on June 20th, making the Rockies his fourth Major League team, having previously played for Houston (2001-10), Philadelphia (2010-11) and Texas (2012). In 364 Major League games/343 starts, Oswalt is 163-104. Coming into the 2013 season, Oswalt's 163 career victories are the 9th-most among active Major League pitchers. The native of Kosciusko, MS is a three-time Major League All-Star (2004-06 with Houston) who has two career 20-win seasons in the majors (2004-05).
