KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (Sept. 1, 2013) -- Every so often, a baseball player will play all nine positions during a game. On Monday, the Kannapolis Intimidators are taking it one step further when front office staffer Terry "T-Bone" Clark will work nine different positions throughout the stadium in the team's final home game of the 2013 season. If he completes all nine tasks, the Intimidators will make a contribution to the charity of his choice. First pitch against the Hagerstown Suns on Monday will be at 1:05 p.m. with gates opening at 12:00 p.m.
"This summer has been all about getting experience, and I plan on getting as much of it as possible" said Clark.
Fans entering the ballpark will see T-Bone (1) tearing tickets as they enter the stadium, his first of nine different responsibilities with which he'll be tasked in the last game of the season. He will then make his way down to the field to join Intimidators manager Tommy Thompson for the (2) lineup card exchange before the game.
Once the game gets underway, Clark will also spend an inning as the (3) public address announcer as well as joining broadcaster Josh Feldman to (4) do an inning of play-by-play on the radio broadcast. Fans will be able to see T-Bone in action (5) pouring beer at the beer garden as well as (6) working in the team store for one inning each during the game.
T-Bone will join groundkeeper Billy Ball to (7) drag the field at the end of the fifth inning. With the fan appreciation festivities in full effect for the final game, the super-staffer will also assist with (8) between-inning promotions, such as t-shirt tosses and trivia contests. Lastly, as fans exit the ballpark for the final time in 2013, Clark will be by the gate to (9) distribute exit coupons and thank fans for enjoying another great season of Intimidators baseball.
The Intimidators and Hagerstown Suns wrap up the South Atlantic League 2013 regular season on Monday, Sept. 2, at 1:05 p.m. at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The ballpark is located off I-85 at Exit 63. For tickets and promotional information, call the F&M Bank Box Office or visit IntimidatorsBaseball.com.
