Dear Binghamton Mets Fans,
Thank you first and foremost for your continued support over the course of the 2013 season, we could not have been as successful without you. This season was full of fun filled memorable moments from April all the way down to the last playoff game.
The Binghamton Mets finished the year with an 86-55 record in the regular season, the best record in the twenty-two year history of the organization, and we were enthralled with the chance to be back in the playoffs for the 1st time since 2004. While we exited the playoffs early this season each game was filled with excitement down to the last out. We could not have had that electric atmosphere all season without you the fans.
This year's class of Binghamton Mets had the passion and desire that it took to become the 1st team since 2004 to make it back to the Eastern League Playoffs. Allan Dykstra, Cesar Puello, Logan Verrett, Josh Rodriguez, and Jeff Walters all made the 2013 Eastern League All Star Game in New Britain, Connecticut. Furthermore, Jeff Walters and Allan Dykstra were also named Eastern League Post Season All Stars.
Allan Dykstra went on to win the 2013 Eastern League Most Valuable Player Award alongside his manager, Pedro Lopez who was named 2013 Eastern League Manager of the Year. The Binghamton Mets were also fortunate to send pitchers, Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero to the 2013 Futures Game held at Citi Field this season along with manager Pedro Lopez.
Not only did the 2013 Binghamton Mets set the record for most victories in a season by any Binghamton Mets team, but also set various individual records on the field as well. Off the field the Binghamton Mets players were intricately involved in projects such as the Magic Paintbrush project as well as the Dave Clark Dream, Disability, and Do Camp. For the first time in team history the Binghamton Mets Booster Club was formed in the months leading up to the season.
Binghamton also saw its share of 2013 Major League Rehabilitation assignments such as Justin Turner, Jon Niese, Scott Atchison, Jenry Mejia, and Frank Francisco.
Although the team made an untimely exit from the 2013 Eastern League Playoffs, 2013 remained a memorable season from the cold months of April right down to the final out of the playoffs.
We want to thank you the fans for all of your support this season and look forward to many more memorable seasons to come. See you in 2014 for Opening Day in April.
