The Toronto Blue Jays announced their annual R. Howard Webster Award Winners, recognizing the most valuable players at each of the club's minor league affiliated teams. The Blue Jays gave the honor to INF RYAN GOINS for the Buffalo Bisons.
A late-season member of the Herd, OF BRAD GLENN received the honor for Double-A New Hampshire.
GOINS hit .257 (97-377) in a team-high 111 games with the Bisons with 22 doubles (2nd on the club), six home runs, 46 RBI and 42 runs scored. The 5-10, 170 pound, left-handed hitter posted a combined .981 fielding percentage in 101 games at shortstop, nine games at 2nd base, and one game at 3rd base. He clubbed an inside-the-park home run on May 29 in Durham and had two of the Bisons nine 4-hit performances on the season: April 17(2) at Syracuse (4-4) and June 27 at Gwinnett (4-5).
GLENN was promoted to the Bisons on August 15 and hit .246 (15-61) with five home runs and 10 RBI in 18 games with the Herd. He homered in his first at-bat as a Bison (and in Triple-A) on August 15 against Rochester and hit two home runs on April 23 against Lehigh Valley. In 111 games with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Glenn has averaged .264 (112-425) with 28 doubles, two triples, 17 home runs, 69 RBI and 61 runs scored. He was an Eastern League mid-season All-Star.
