Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Los Angeles Dodgers have named outfielder Scott Schebler, who spent the entire 2013 season with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, as their 2013 Minor League Player of the Year.
Schebler, 22, enjoyed a break-out season this year and was named a California League Post-Season All-Star. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native batted a team-high .296, with 27 home runs (second in the league), 91 RBIs (seventh) and a league-best 69 extra-base hits, helping him to the second-best slugging percentage (.581) in the circuit.
Former Quake Zach Lee was named the Dodgers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year, after a strong year for Double-A Chattanooga of the Southern League. Lee, 22, finished the year with a record of 10-10 and a 3.22 ERA over 28 games for the Lookouts. The 2012 Quake was third in the league in punch-outs (131) and was also named a mid-season Southern League All-Star.
Both Schebler and Lee will be honored at Dodger Stadium before Sunday's regular-season finale against the Colorado Rockies.
