Ports Remember Alum Rod Craig
09/30/2013 5:56 PM ET

It is with great sadness to report the passing of alum Rod Craig. Craig played for the then Stockton Mariners during the 1978 season. Craig had a .272 average with 41 stolen bases in 90 games during that season. Craig would eventually make it to the big leagues in 1979 and would play parts of four seasons with the Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. Rod Craig was one of nine 1978 Stockton Mariners to make it to Major Leagues including Dave Henderson. Rod Craig was 56 years old.
