Ynoa Nabs Trautman SAL Player of the Year Award

Savannah, GA - Minor League Baseball and the Topps company announced winners for the 2013 George M. Trautman Awards Monday. Among those honored for their respective leagues was Mets pitcher Gabriel Ynoa, representing the South Atlantic League as its Player of the Year.

Ynoa played the entire 2013 season as a starter with the Savannah Sand Gnats leading the league with 15 regular season wins while posting an impressive 2.72 ERA. The 20-year-old right-hander also led the Sand Gnats to a South Atlantic League title, winning both play-off starts with a 1.23 ERA.

Ynoa wasn't the only Mets player honored, as pitcher Chris Flexen of the Kingsport Mets was named Player of the Year for the Appalachian League.
