The Fightin Phils congratulate Baseballtown native Taylor Swift on winning the CMA Pinnacle Award at Wednesday night's 47th annual CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Swift became just the second recipient ever to receive the honor following Garth Brooks' win in 2005. The CMA Pinnacle Award celebrates an artist whose "talent and presence will have a long-term positive impact on the appreciation of country music for generations to come".

She also came away with three additional CMA Awards for Musical Event of the Year, Music Video of the Year for "Highway Don't Care" with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban, and International Artist Achievement.

Swift grew up in neighboring Wyomissing and performed the National Anthem many times at FirstEnergy Stadium, with the last time coming in 2007 when she also performed at the Sovereign Performing Arts Center.

Since releasing her first album in 2006, Swift has sold 26 million albums and over 75 million singles. Here latest album "Red" has sold over 3.8 million copies in the United States and over six million worldwide, charting at the number one in 50 countries.
