Keys Announce New Broadcast Team

Arnold and Raftery to call games on 1450 AM The Source
February 11, 2014

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Keys are proud to announce that Geoff Arnold has joined the team as its new Broadcasting and Public Relations Manager. In this role, Arnold will work as one of the team's radio broadcasters and serve as the primary liaison to the media. He succeeds Adam Pohl, who was hired as the new radio broadcaster for the Bowie Baysox in January. Pohl spent seven seasons with the ballclub (2007-13).

Arnold will work alongside Doug Raftery on Keys broadcasts. A veteran game-caller with time in independent and summer collegiate baseball, Raftery became a member of the Keys family in November. Since that time, he has worked as a sponsorship sales account manager for the club. Arnold and Raftery will collaborate on all Frederick home broadcasts, while the pair will split road broadcast duties.

"On behalf of the entire Frederick Keys organization we are certainly very excited to have Geoff and Doug on our team," said Keys GM Dave Ziedelis. "Each brings a solid background in baseball as well as individual knowledge of the Carolina League and the Frederick area."

A native of Berwyn, PA, Arnold spent the 2013 season as the Assistant Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Wilmington (DE) Blue Rocks, the Advanced-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals. There, he served as one of team's radio voices, and helped coordinate club media efforts. Prior to his time in Wilmington, Arnold held a similar role with the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. He graduated from Dickinson College in 2010.

Raftery comes to the Keys after spending two years with the Eau Claire Express of the collegiate Northwoods Baseball League. During his tenure with the Express, he worked as the team's Director of Broadcasting and Media Sales. A 2012 graduate of Hood College, Raftery has also called games for the Florence Freedom of the Independent Frontier League and the Rockbridge Rapids of the Valley Baseball League. He is originally from Brick, N.J.

Opening Day is Tuesday, April 8th as Frederick takes on the Carolina Mudcats. Contact the Keys Groups Office at 301-815-9900 to purchase season or partial season ticket plans. For more info on ticket plans head to frederickkeys.com.
