Liam Hendriks claimed by Blue Jays

Hendriks has spent parts of the last three seasons with the Twins.

The Toronto Blue Jays today claimed RHP LIAM HENDRIKS off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room on the 40-man roster, Toronto designated INF BRENT MOREL for assignment.

HENDRIKS, 25, split last season with the Minnesota Twins and the Rochester Red Wings. He posted a 1-3 record with a 6.85 ERA in 10 appearances (eight starts) for the Twins and a 4-8 record with a 4.67 ERA in 16 starts with Rochester.

Hendriks has split each of the last three years between the Twins and Red Wings. In 30 career major league games, the righty is 2-13 with a 6.06 ERA. In 2012 with Rochester, Hendriks posted a 9-3 record and a 2.20 ERA in 16 starts.
