1st Annual Dodd Stadium College Baseball Classic
UCONN, Stony Brook, Bryant To Face Off April 4-6

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers are proud to introduce the "Dodd Stadium College Baseball Classic" in 2014. The first annual event will feature three of the premier college baseball programs in the Northeast as UCONN, Stony Brook University, and Bryant University will square off in a series of games beginning Friday April 4th and concluding Sunday April 6th at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.

All three baseball programs have won games in the NCAA tournament over the course of the last two seasons. Bryant and UCONN are the only teams from New England to have done so in 2013. Stony Brook reached the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska after a storybook run in 2012, marking the first time a team from the Northeast reached the College World Series in three decades.

"We are extremely excited to be able to host three of the region's top college baseball programs in one weekend this spring," said Tigers Vice President & General Manager Eric Knighton. "Our hope is to make this an event everyone marks on their calendars each spring for many years to come."

The schedule of games will be as follows: Bryant and UCONN kick things off Friday, April 4th at 3 pm. On Saturday, April 5th Stony Brook and Bryant face off at 12 p.m. followed by Stony Brook and UCONN at 4 pm. The Classic concludes on Sunday, April 6th with Bryant vs. Stony Brook at 12 pm and Bryant vs. UCONN at 4 pm. Dodd Stadium gates will open one hour prior to the start time of the day's first game.

Tickets for the Dodd Stadium College Baseball Classic will be available through the Dodd Stadium box office or online at www.cttigers.com beginning Monday, March 3rd. Tickets will be available on a "Day Ticket" basis or an "All-Session Ticket" basis. A Day Ticket grants the holder access to all games held on a specific day, while the All-Session Ticket would grant entrance to the entire weekend's set of games. Pricing is as follows: Adult Day Ticket: $10, Adult All-Session Ticket: $25; Student/Child/Senior Day Ticket: $7, Student/Child/Senior All-Session Ticket: $17; Groups of 10 or more Day Ticket: $5 per ticket. Luxury Suites will be available for rent at $300 per day or $600 for all games Friday through Sunday.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 season tickets, mini plans, and team merchandise are now on sale!
