COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Tickets to the 50th Midwest League All-Star Classic, to be held at Fifth Third Ballpark on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, will go on sale tomorrow, March 4, at 10 a.m.
Individual ticket prices are $16.00 for premium box seats, $14.00 for box seats, $12.50 for reserved seats and $8.00 for lawn seating. The 4-Topps premium tables will be $120.00 for four people.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. for the All-Star Classic, and game time is set for 7 p.m. Several pre-game activities, including an on-field autograph session, will fill the afternoon.
The All-Star Classic is expected to sell out. It is traditionally not only a display of the league's talented baseball prospects but also a showcase of the host city to the hundreds of league executives, baseball fans and players who will descend on the city for the two-day event. The event is an opportunity for the Whitecaps to show off Fifth Third Ballpark as well as West Michigan, with plans for baseball players and executives to visit the lakeshore, downtown Grand Rapids and other local attractions.
The event is also expected to serve as a celebration of the completion of the rebuilding of Fifth Third Ballpark after the January 3 fire. While the ballpark will open to the public in time for the start of the season on April 8, several areas of the facility, including some suites and concessions stands, are eyeing a target completion date of June 17.
The 2014 All-Star Classic will be the third that the Whitecaps have hosted in the team's 20-year history. The Whitecaps first hosted it in 1995 and then again in 2003.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the Whitecaps front office at 616-784-4131, by visiting www.whitecapsbaseball.com, or in person at the temporary administrative offices at 5716 West River Drive NE in Belmont, at the White Pine Trail overpass. The ticket office at this location is open from 10 to 5 p.m. Please note that due to construction, Fifth Third Ballpark is not open to the public.
