Outfielders Terrance Gore and Bubba Starling, who played for the Lexington Legends in 2013, were honored at the Kansas City Royals Minor League Awards ceremony Wednesday at the Royals' spring training headquarters in Surprise, Arizona.

Gore, who played left field for the Legends, received the Willie Wilson Baserunning Award. Gore led the South Atlantic League with 68 stolen bases and was caught only eight times.

Starling, the Legends' center fielder, was presented the Frank White Award as the defensive player of the year in the Royals' minor league system.

"Terrance Gore is one of the fastest runners in baseball, and he added a lot of excitement to Legends' baseball in 2013," said Legends President/COO Andy Shea. "Bubba is an outstanding athlete who made a lot of great catches in center field, including one of the best I have ever seen when he took a home run away from a Hagerstown batter."
