Top Cubs prospect Javier Baez hammered a curveball by the Mariners' Randy Wolf well over the wall in left field for his second extra-base hit in as many games and his third dinger of the month. He'd previously homered in back-to-back games March 3 and 5. Baez, MLB.com's seventh-ranked prospect, is batting .333 in the Cactus League. Mike Olt, the Cubs' No. 5 prospect, homered twice and drove in three runs.

Karns also struck out one and walked one in the outing. The former Texas Tech hurler hasn't allowed a run thus far in three Spring Training appearances (6 1/3 innings), fanning five and issuing two walks in that span.
