Eddie Butler gave up a run on four hits over three innings, equaling his high-water mark this spring, as the Rockies were blanked by the Giants in split-squad action. Butler,'s No. 41 overall prospect, did not figure in the decision but lowered his ERA to 3.86 in three Cactus League outings.

Nick Castellanos was already having a pretty good spring entering Friday. By the fourth inning, he had made it all the sweeter. The Tigers' top prospect, who started the day 12-for-30 (.400) in Grapefruit League play, went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in Detroit's win over the Nationals. All of that damage came in the opening four frames, by which time the Tigers owned a 9-3 lead. Castellanos pushed his spring average up to .441.
