Tuesday's scheduled doubleheader between the Syracuse Chiefs, the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The teams will resume their series on Wednesday at 4:00 PM - one hour earlier than originally scheduled. Syracuse and Lehigh Valley will then play a doubleheader on Thursday at 5:00 PM. Gates open one hour prior to game time for each day.
"It's unfortunate that Mother Nature has knocked out a couple of early games," said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol. "We're itching to get back on the field and show fans what we have in store, and we can't wait to do that starting with a Guaranteed Win on Wednesday and a $1.00Thursday."
Every Wednesday home game this year is a Winning Wednesday, where Chiefs fans have the chances to win great prizes. This Wednesday, Syracuse fans can win two tickets to see Jason Aldean, Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr at the New York State Fair on August 30th. In addition, Smorol has decreed that every Winning Wednesday is a "Guaranteed Win" day. If the Chiefs do not win on a Wednesday home game this year, all tickets can be redeemed for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any home game for the remainder of the season.
Thursday's doubleheader takes place on a $1.00 Thursday presented by 95X. Fans can purchase $1.00 Hofmann hot dogs, $1.00 Coca-Cola products, $1.00 Saranac, Labatt and Budweiser products, $1.00 programs and $3.00 general admission tickets.
The two teams will also play a doubleheader when the IronPigs next return to Syracuse on Tuesday, June 24th at 5:00 PM. That doubles as a Two-For-Tuesday, where fans can purchase any regularly-priced ticket and receive a second one free.
Tickets and parking stubs for today's game can be redeemed for any game up to one year from today's date. Tickets for all Chiefs home games can also be purchased online at syracusechiefs.com, by calling 315-474-7833 or in person at the Chiefs ticket office.
