Tom Windle picked up his second win of the year behind six strikeouts on Sunday.

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Quakes took their second series of the year with an 8-6 win over the Lancaster JetHawks Sunday afternoon. The win was Rancho's second in a row and third in four games.

Tom Windle (2-2, 5.16 ERA) was fantastic outside a shaky start to pick up his second win of the season. The southpaw from Minnesota fanned six batters and walked just one while giving up four runs (two earned) in five innings. Lancaster scored three runs on Windle in the opening frame thanks in large part to two Rancho errors.

Rancho Cucamonga (8-16) answered back with a run in the bottom of the first. Adam Law led off with a hit for the sixth straight game, extending his hitting streak to a California League-best 15 games. Steven Proscia scored Law with a sacrifice fly later in the inning.

The Quakes tied the game with a pair of runs in the third. Rob Garvey, who finished with two hits and an RBI, led off with a double and scored on consecutive wild pitches by Lancaster starter Mike Hauschild. Two batters later, Chris Jacobs launched his third home run of the year to left-center field.

Lancaster (14-10) took back the lead on an RBI single from Dan Gulbransen in the top of the fourth inning, but Rancho followed with a run of their own in the home half. Rob Garvey's groundout scored Leo Rodriguez to tie the game at four.

Rancho took the lead in the fifth inning off of Lancaster reliever Tyson Perez (0-2, 5.06 ERA). Tyler Ogle's two-run single to center field scored Chris Jacobs and Jeremy Rathjen to give the Quakes a 6-4 lead.

Matt Shelton threw two perfect innings of relief to keep the Quakes in front before Rancho added some insurance in the eighth. With the bases loaded, Steven Proscia's bloop single to right field plated two and Rancho led 8-4 heading to the final frame.

Those runs would become very important when Owen Jones struggled to close out the game. Lancaster scored two runs on four hits against Jones before manager P.J. Forbes went to the bullpen. Blake Smith, who notched his first save of the year on Saturday night, came in with the tying runs on base. After issuing a walk to load the bases, Smith retired Lancaster's Rio Ruiz and Bobby Borchering for the save.

Rancho Cucamonga will look for their third win in a row Monday afternoon in San Bernardino against the Inland Empire 66ers. Fabio Martinez (0-1, 4.50 ERA), who has limited opposing hitters to a .188 average, will make his fourth start of the year for Rancho. Southpaw Tyler DeLoach (1-0, 1.89) will start for Inland Empire. He gave up one run on three hits in four innings against the Quakes on April 7th. First pitch is at 3:30 pm and the game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1350.
