Mavs held to one hit, fall out of first place

April 30, 2014

LANCASTER • Four different Lancaster JetHawks pitchers combined to limit the High Desert Mavericks to one hit as they won 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Gabriel Guerrero's single to lead off the fourth was the Mavs only hit. Seven others reached base on walks and two more via error, but High Desert stranded eight runners.

Dylan Unsworth took the hard-luck loss, giving two runs on five hits in six innings for the Mavs (15-12), who dropped out of a first-place tie with Lancaster and the Lake Elsinore Storm.

Lancaster scored a run in the fifth and sixth innings.
