No. 14 Marlins prospect Sam Dyson will be sidelined for six weeks with a broken jaw after getting punched in the face by teammate Chris Hatcher, according to a report from the New Orleans Advocate.

Hatcher was suspended for five games by the Marlins effective May 1, while Dyson underwent surgery in Miami and is expected to be placed on the Triple-A Zephyrs' disabled list.

The paper said the New Orleans relievers got into a fight on April 29 in a Nashville bar after the Zephyrs wrapped up an eight-game road trip.

"I'm not getting into that; can't do it," Hatcher told the Advocate on Thursday. "I'm suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Unfortunately [the incident] happened, and I'm going to leave it at that."

Both Dyson and Hatcher have seen time in Miami in recent seasons. Dyson, originally drafted by Toronto in the fourth round of the 2010 Draft, has not pitched in a game for New Orleans since April 27.

"It happens," Zephyrs manager Andy Haines told the Advocate. "I don't know exactly what happened, but we're trying to [move] forward."

Hatcher said he's spoken with Dyson since the incident but did not clarify if the issue has been resolved.

"There's a lot up in the air," Hatcher said.

A converted catcher, Hatcher made his Major League debut with the Marlins in 2010 and has appeared in 29 games as a pitcher from 2011-'13. He spent the first five years of his career behind the plate after being drafted out of North Carolina in the fifth round of the 2006 Draft.

Dyson, who made his Major League debut in 2012, is on the Marlins' 40-man roster. He's 0-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings over eight relief appearances this season. Hatcher is 0-2 with a 2.35 ERA and has struck out 17 in 15 1/3 frames.

Hatcher returned from suspension on May 7 and pitched a scoreless inning against Iowa.
