Reno strung together three consecutive five-run innings, as the Aces rallied for a 17-11 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Sunday afternoon. Salt Lake jumped out to a 5-0 lead with one run in the first and four more in the second, but the Aces responded with five runs in the second to tie the game. After the Bees grabbed a 6-5 lead in the third on an RBI triple by Kole Calhoun, Reno plated five more runs in the bottom of the second with Nick Evans putting them in front with a two run double. Mike Jacobs closed out the inning with a home run that brought home two of his seven runs batted in for the game. Roberto Lopez hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth to get Salt Lake back to within three at 10-7, but the Aces put the game away with five more runs in the fourth.
Salt Lake starter Brooks Raley (0-1) took the loss, as he went just two and two-third innings and allowed ten runs on nine hits with three walks and two hit batters. Lopez led the Bees with three hits, including two homers, and four runs batted in, while Matt Long added two hits and three RBI. J.B. Shuck chipped in with two hits and two RBI. On their respective major league injury rehab assignments, Calhoun went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs batted in, while David Freese went 0-for-3 with one walk and one run scored.
