Savannah, Ga.- The Asheville Tourists pulled to within five games of the first place Savannah Sand Gnats with a 2-1 win in 10 innings Monday night at Historic Grayson Stadium.

Asheville shortstop Emerson Jimenez drove home leftfielder Max White with the go-ahead run with a triple up the right-centerfield gap in the top of the 10th against reliever Robert Coles.

The Gnats (37-17) squandered the best start of the year by Chris Flexen, who struck out a season-best 10 batters. Flexen allowed one run on three hits and a walk in his seven innings.

The Tourists (33-23) scored their run off Flexen in the sixth, when 2012 first round pick David Dahl singled home White.

The Gnats tied the game in the bottom of the seventh. RF Victor Cruzado doubled and scored on DH Stefan Sabol's RBI single to left.

Savannah second baseman LJ Mazzilli singled in the 10th inning to extend his hitting streak to 12 straight games. The Gnats put two runners aboard in the 10th, but could not get the game-tying run home.

Savannah will send RHP Kevin McGowan (3-1, 1.57) to the hill Tuesday against RHP Konnor Wade (4-5, 5.05). Fans can enjoy buy-one get-one-free Miller Lite and Coors Light as part of Two-For-Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm. Gates to Historic Grayson Stadium open at 6 pm. The radio broadcast begins on News/Talk 630 WBMQ and at 6:45 pm.
