Cougars Clinch Western Division First Half Championship
Playoff ticket punched for postseason play in September

The Cougars clinched the Western Division first half championship on June 7. Kane County will begin the 2014 Midwest League Playoffs on Wednesday, September 3.

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougar have clinched the Midwest League's Western Division first half championship and will play in September's Midwest League Playoffs. This marks the 14th playoff appearance in the 24-year history of the Cougars, and the first time since 2009 that the Cougars have clinched a first half playoff spot.

Cougars playoff tickets are on sale now! The Cougars will open the Midwest League Playoffs on Wednesday, September 3. Several details are to be determined at this point as the Cougars will face the second half Western Division wild card winner in a best-of-three opening round series. With Game 1 taking place on the road, the Cougars will return home for Game 2 on Thursday, September 4 at 6 p.m. (click HERE to purchase tickets). That evening is a Thirsty Thursday, presented by Miller Lite, with $1 select beers, sodas and hot dogs. If necessary, Game 3 will also take place at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark with a 6 p.m. start time on Friday, September 5. If the Cougars were to advance to the next round, the best-of-three Western Division Championship Series would begin on Saturday, September 6 with home dates to be determined. The Midwest League Championship Series is a best-of-five series that begins on Wednesday, September 10.
