Lowell, MA - The Connecticut Tigers (9-10) defeated the Lowell Spinners (10-9) by a score of 9-4 Wednesday night at LeLacheur Park. Tigers DH Joey Pankake (3-5) put together one of his best offensive performances since coming to Connecticut. Pankake had two singles, one double, three RBI's and a run scored.

The Tigers also got contribution from SS Garrett Mattlage (2-4). In Mattage's first four at bats, he reached base and scored run. Mattlage had a single and a triple to go along with his four runs scored in six at-bats. 2B Domingo Leyba (1-5) hit a two-run triple in the fourth inning that opened the lead for the Tigers at 6-0. It was RBI's 10 and 11 for Leyba. 3B Steven Fuentes (3-4) fell a homerun shy of the cycle. The Tigers offense was very patient at the plate as they drew 10 walks as a team. Even in the win the struggles continue for the Tigers with runners on base as they left 14 men on base and in the last two games a combine 23 left on base. The Tigers were 4-for-21 with runners in scoring position and just 6-for-31 in the first two games of the series.

RHP Austin Pritcher (2-1) picked up the win for the Tigers as he came in relief of starter RHP Josh Heddinger (0-0) who pitched two scoreless innings while giving up two hits and striking out two. It was the first time in four games that Pritcher came out in a relief role. In his previous three games he was the starting pitcher. Pritcher pitched five innings while allowing three runs on five hits and struck out six batters.
