FIREWORKS, $1 Beer Night, Giveaway on tap this week
The State College Spikes, affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, return home for a fun-filled, six-game homestand starting on Wednesday, July 9. The Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets) and Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees) will provide the opposition. Highlights include a pair of FIREWORKS shows, the Spikes Youth Baseball Clinic, a Spikes Fleece Blanket Giveaway, and the return of $1 Beer Night.
The fun begins on Wednesday, when the Spikes host Brooklyn at 7:05 p.m. for Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. Thursday, first pitch between the Spikes and Cyclones is set for 7:05 p.m., and fans will enjoy the return of $1 Beer Night, presented by 93.7 THE BUS, with 12-oz. domestic draft beers available for just $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m.
The first 1,000 fans of all ages will receive a Spikes Fleece Blanket, presented by Penn State Federal Credit Union, when gates open at 6 p.m. Friday night for a 7:05 p.m. matchup between the Spikes and Cyclones. It will also be a 4 for $44 Friday, presented by TGI Fridays and MAJIC 99.
Saturday, the Yankees come to town for a 7:05 p.m. game, and fans will be thrilled by the first of two fantastic FIREWORKS shows on the weekend, presented by Penn State Sports Medicine.
Before Saturday's game, kids 12 and under can learn fundamental baseball skills from Spikes players at the Youth Baseball Clinic, presented by Penn State Sports Medicine. The clinic runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and is free with a ticket to Saturday night's game.
Sunday, another spectacular FIREWORKS show will light up the skies after the Spikes' 6:05 p.m. game against Staten Island thanks to First National Bank and ESPN Radio 1450. Bring out the family for Kids Day at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, presented by First National Bank, with kids able to eat and play for free thanks to Dairy Queen Grill & Chill.
Kids can also run the bases after each game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday thanks to Clinical Outcomes Group, Inc.
The homestand concludes on Monday, July 14 with the Spikes' popular Super Splash Day. The Spikes will face the Yankees at Noon for the final scheduled day game at home this season as Ike's Kids Zone in left field will turn into a waterpark, with an array of wet and wild activities for kids to enjoy. It's also a Buck Day at the park, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, with $1 Outfield Bleacher seats, $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanuts all available for fans.
