FIREWORKS, $1 Beer Night, Star Wars characters also on tap

The first-place State College Spikes return home for a six-game homestand running from Wednesday, July 30 to Monday, August 4, featuring a jam-packed promotional slate. Highlights include the return of $1 Beer Thursday, the second Bark in the Park Night of the year on Saturday night, a pair of fantastic FIREWORKS shows, and Paint the Park Pink Night to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer on Sunday.

The Spikes will take on the Aberdeen IronBirds (Baltimore Orioles) and the Hudson Valley Renegades (Tampa Bay Rays) during the six-game slate. Aberdeen provides the opposition for three 7:05 p.m. games from Wednesday through Friday, while division-leading Hudson Valley comes into town for a potential playoff preview from Saturday through Monday.

Saturday, fans can bring their favorite four-legged friends to the park on for the second Bark in the Park Night this season, presented by Metzger Animal Hospital and NEWSRADIO 103. The night will include several dog-related promotions and activities throughout the evening, including dog-themed in-game entertainment and music before and during the 7:05 p.m. game against Hudson Valley. Sunday, fans can join the fight against breast cancer with the annual Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Mount Nittany Health as the Spikes take on Hudson Valley at 6:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans of all ages through the gates when they open at 5:00 p.m. will receive a Pink Ribbon Drawstring Bag courtesy of Mount Nittany Health.

In addition, the Spikes will wear special Pink Ribbon Jerseys, which will then be up for bids during the game in a Jersey-off-the-Back Auction benefiting The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center, with the winners receiving them on the field shortly after the final out of the night is made.

Fans can also enjoy a spectacular FIREWORKS display, presented by Mount Nittany Health and WHVL-TV, to cap off the night.

Friday, the Spikes kick off the weekend with a post-game FIREWORKS show, presented by Vision Creative Solutions and ESPN Radio 1450, after a 7:05 p.m. matchup against Hudson Valley. Star Wars characters will also be on hand to meet and greet fans thoughout the night.

Thursday night will mark the return of $1 Beer Night at the ballpark, presented by 93.7 THE BUS, as the Spikes take on Aberdeen. Fans can purchase 12-oz. select domestic draft beers for just $1 apiece from 6-8 p.m.

Wednesday night, fans can take advantage of the value of Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101. The Spikes host Aberdeen that night, and fans can get into the park with half-price Outfield Bleacher seats, then enjoy half-price 16-oz. select domestic draft beers from 6-8 p.m. andhalf-price medium sodas all game long.

The homestand finishes up on Monday, August 4, with the Spikes' 7:05 p.m. matchup against Hudson Valley on Buck Night, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ. $1 Outfield Bleacher seats, $1 hot dogs, $1 small sodas and $1 peanuts will all be available for fans. Plus, it's Princess Night at the park as well as Daddy-Daughter Date Night featuring a post-game dance.
