The Williamsport Crossscutters were swept by the Connecticut Tigers Friday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Bowman Field after losing 5-1.

Cutters starter Ricardo Pinto (0-3) allowed just 2-run homer to Tim Remes in 5 innings of work, but couldn't get any offensive support in the loss.

Matt Shortall had a one out single in the fifth inning off Tigers starter Fernando Perez (4-2) breaking up another potential no-hitter.

The Tigers added two runs off Cutters reliever Mark Meadors in the seventh inning on a base hit, walk and two costly errors to make it 4-1.

Aaron Brown got the Cutters offense going with a lead-off triple in the seventh and one batter later Rhys Hoskins delivered Brown with an RBI single off the bag at third base to cut the lead to 4-1

Manny Martinez surrendered a solo homer to Joey Pankake leading off the eighth inning to make the final score 5-1.
