Leibrandt brilliant in Cutters loss to Spinners

Monday night at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Massachusetts the Crosscutters were shutout by the Spinners 2-0.

Brandon Leibrandt (1-2) was outstanding, pitching seven innings allowing one run on two hits, he walked two and struck out 10 in the loss.

The only blemish was Alixon Suarez homer to left center field in the Spinners second inning to put Lowell in front 1-0.

Lowell plated a run in the bottom of the eighth off Cutters reliever Edubray Ramos. Alixon Suarez doubled of the wall in the right field corner and just beat a strong throw by Cord Sandberg. Raymel Flores pinch-ran for Suarez. Joseph Monge got down a sacrifice bunt and Flores moved to third.

Deiner Lopez reached on a fielder's choice, fielded by shortstop Emmanuel Marrero and Flores scored to make it 2-0 Lowell.

The Cutters managed only three hits in the game. Cord Sandberg hit a lead-off single to extend his hitting streak to ten games.

With the loss, the Williamsport Crosscutters fall to (26-31) and have lost back to back games and finish the road trip (2-4).
