Ruiz's Stick Beats Back Tourists in 10 Innings Monday

Savannah, Ga.-  Champ Stuart brought home Yeixon Ruiz with a game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the tenth to cap off a 4-3 Savannah Sand Gnats comeback win over the division-leading Asheville Tourists on Monday night at Historic Grayson Stadium. 

Ruiz had a big night. Leading off the bottom of the 10th inning, he tripled and then scored the winning run in front of a laser beam of a throw from Asheville center fielder Ramiel Tapia. Ruiz's solo homerun in the third inning tied the game at 2-2. 

The Tourists (35-16/76-43) took a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh when left fielder Dillon Thomas tripled and scored on a Wilfredo Rodriguez sacrifice fly. 

The Gnats (32-19/76-41) evened the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the ninth when rightfielder Victor Cruzado ripped a single into right field to chase home pinch-runner Jonathan Johnson

The Gnats will send RHP Octavio Acosta (0-0, 1.80) to the mound Tuesday against Asheville RHP Zach Jemiola (8-8, 5.24).

Fans will be treated to buy-one get-one-free Miller Lite and Coors Light as a part of Two For Tuesday.
