Cutters Lose to Scrappers

Wednesday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Bowman Field the Cutters (29-35) got leveled by Mahoning Valley 9-1.

Jiandido Tromp hit his single season franchise record tying 13th homer, making it 1-0 after the first inning. It was the last time the Cutters would score.

Cutters starter Feliberto Sanchez (2-8) allowed just two runs on six innings over five innings and struck out six batters.

The Cutters offense managed only four hits on the night against Scrappers starting pitcher Juan Santana (1-7).

Cutters relievers Mark Meadors and Bryan Sova each had clean innings of relief in the eighth and ninth inning respectively.

On Thursday, August 21, the Cutters conclude the brief 2-game home stand and wrap up the season series with Mahoning Valley at 7:05 p.m.
