Doubledays shutout Cutters 4-0

The Crosscutters were held to just five hits and were shutout by the Doubledays 4-0 Friday night at Falcon Park in Auburn, New York.

Jose Pujols had two hits for the Cutters including a double.

Cutters starter Ricardo Pinto (1-4) allowed a solo homer in the first inning and scattered a total of six hits in six innings and struck out nine.

The Cutters bullpen were touched up, LHP Scott Harris allowed a run in the seventh inning and RHP Manny Martinez surrendered two runs in the eighth inning.

With the loss the Cutters fall to (30-36) and are one loss or State College win away from begin eliminated from the Pinckney Division race. Any combination of four Brooklyn wins and Crosscutters losses will eliminate the Cutters in the wildcard standings.

The Cutters continue their 7-game road trip with game two of a 3-game series in Auburn, New York tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m.

The Cutters return home next Friday, August 29, 2014 to face Jamestown at 7:05 p.m. to conclude the regular season schedule.
