BELOIT, Wisc - The Snappers offense was firing on all cylinders this evening and Matt Chapman's bat was no exception. Beloit gets the win against the Quad Cities River Bandits at Pohlman Field by a score of 9-6.
The Snappers hopped on the board first with two runs in the first inning when Matt Chapman grounded out but scored Chih-Fang Pan. Phil Pohl then singled to bring in Ryan Mathews.
The River Bandits then strike back by scoring a run in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Quad Cities took the lead, 3-2, momentarily when Chase McDonald hit a two run homer to left field.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, the Snappers got some much needed offense from Matt Chapman when he hit a grand slam to center field. The grand slam was his fifth homer of the season.
The RBI's kept on coming for Chapman as he drove in another run in the sixth inning. He then scored shortly after due to a throwing error by Quad Cities. Phil Pohl contributed with two RBI's on the night, one of them coming in the sixth inning when he doubled to left field to help Michael Soto score. Chapman finished the night with 6 RBI's.
