Owlz Drop Series Finale in Idaho Falls

August 30, 2014

The Owlz dropped the final game of their four-game series in Idaho Falls, losing 5-1 on Saturday night.

The Owlz played Idaho Falls eight games in a row and won six of them before Saturday night's loss.

Idaho Falls pitchers were very sharp in the game, allowing only five hits to the Owlz hitters.

The Chukars got up early with two runs in the second inning. The inning ended with a diving catch by Raul Linares in left field, but Linares and shortstop Wendell Soto collided as they both dove for the ball. Soto exited the game, but no information has been given about the injury. He did walk off the field under his own power, but was pulled from the game and replaced by Andrew Daniel who later doubled.

Pedro Pizarro was responsible for the only Owlz run of the night, hitting a line drive solo home run in the fourth inning.

Idaho Falls tacked on a few more runs over the remainder of the game, making the final score 5-1.

The Owlz will be in Grand Junction for game one of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 4:05 and all the action can be heard at audio.oremowlz.com.
