Sally League announces 2014 awards
All 14 teams, plus managers and umpires, participated in voting

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa announced the recipients of the 2014 South Atlantic League Outstanding Achievement Awards. All 14 teams, along with the field managers and umpires, participated in the voting for these awards.

Club Merit Award: The Hickory Crawdads have been selected as the winner of this prestigious award, which is awarded for outstanding overall club operations.

Community Service Award: The Greensboro Grasshoppers have been selected as the winner of this award, which recognizes a club's charitable and philanthropic contributions to their community.

Excellence in Marketing Award: The Greenville Drive were selected as the recipients of this award to recognize outstanding marketing and promotions. This is the second time in five years that Greenville has won this award (2010).

General Manager of the Year: Mark Seaman of the Hickory Crawdads has been selected as the winner of the General Manager of the Year award.

Female Executive of the Year: Alyssa Dooyema of the Delmarva Shorebirds was selected as the Female Executive of the Year.

Media Relations Director of the Year: Adam Marco of the West Virginia Power has been selected as the Media Relations Director of the Year.

Sales Executive of the Year: Todd Olson of the Greensboro Grasshoppers was selected as the Sales Executive of the Year.

Sports Turf Manager of the Year: Mike Williams of the Charleston RiverDogs was named the 2014 Sports Turf Manager of the Year in the South Atlantic League. This is the fourth time Mike has won this award (2009, 2011 and 2012).

Best Playing Field Award: Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, home of the Charleston RiverDogs, was also awarded the 2014 Best Playing Field Award. This is the fourth time Charleston's field has been honored (2009, 2011, and 2012).

Athletic Trainer of the Year Award: Mark Keiser of the Lexington Legends has been selected as the 2014 South Atlantic League Athletic Trainer of the Year by his peers in the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS). This is the second time Mark has won this award (2013).

Bat Person of the Year Award: Colby Wagner from the Greenville Drive was selected as the Bat Person of the Year.

Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year Award: Bob Perry of the Greensboro Grasshoppers was selected as the Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year Award.
