Generals Join Kyle Seager in Fight Against Cancer

Team pledging $2 to Vs. Cancer Foundation for every Seager hit
March 3, 2015

Jackson, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals have joined forces with one of their own, pledging $2 to the Vs. Cancer Foundation To Cure Kids' Cancer for every hit by Seattle's Kyle Seager in the 2015 season. Kyle and Julie Seager are matching the first 100 people to pledge money in an effort to reach a goal of $30,000.

The Vs. Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of children by funding international cancer research projects and supporting local children's hospitals. The Vs. Cancer Foundation was started in 2013 by Chase Jones, a brain cancer survivor and one of Kyle Seager's teammates in college at the University of North Carolina.

Half of all proceeds from this campaign will be given to local pediatric oncology programs in Seattle while the remaining half funds cancer research projects. You earn prizes by donating to the effort: 50 cents per for a Kyle Seager vs. Cancer T-Shirt and $1 per hit for a signed ball in addition to the T-Shirt. If you donate $5 per hit, you can watch Kyle play in Seattle in a suite and earn batting practice passes for a September home game.

Seager played for the Generals in 2011, hitting .312 with 30 extra-base hits in 66 games with Jackson before earning a promotion to Triple-A Tacoma. He made his major league debut in July of that season.
