Mississippi Doubles Up on Mobile Tuesday

May 13, 2015

PEARL, MS - The Mobile BayBears dropped both games of their doubleheader against the Mississippi Braves by mirrored 2-1 scores Tuesday at Trustmark Park. Game one ended in just an hour and twenty-nine minutes while game two took just over two hours with both games yielding the same one-run loss result. Tuesday's losses were the first two times the BayBears fell to the M-Braves in seven games played against the two teams this season.

RHP Aaron Blair (2-2) pitched all six innings for the BayBears in game one but suffered his second loss of the season having allowed just two earned runs on five hits. Both runs came on just one swing as outfielder Mallex Smith gave the M-Braves a 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the third inning.

Mississippi RHP Tyrell Jenkins (2-2) earned the win, allowing just one run on seven hits in seven innings. The one run was scored on a RBI single from BayBears first baseman Rudy Flores who extended his hit streak to 11 games in game one.

The streak came to an end for Flores in game two. The BayBears again fell 2-1 scoring just one run on three hits when Brandy Drury dove in Alex Glenn with a RBI single in the top of the fourth inning.
