BayBears Strikeout Season-High 16 Times In 8-2 Loss

MOBILE, AL - Striking out 16 batters, the Montgomery Biscuits (39-23, 73-57) cruised to 8-2 win over the Mobile BayBears (31-29, 65-64) Saturday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. Mobile has struck out 30 times in the last 18 innings played against Montgomery, twice setting season-high numbers for punch outs in a game.
 
With Saturday's loss, Mobile remains three games back of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos with eight games left to play in the 2015 regular season, including three at home.

If the BayBears fail to overcome their deficient in the division standings before the regular season comes to a close on September 7, it will snap a streak of five consecutive post-season appearance for Mobile.

The Biscuits tallied eight runs on 15 hits, scoring two runs in the second, eighth and ninth innings, adding one run in both the first and seventh innings en rout to the six-run win.

Tyler Goeddel and Cameron Seitzer paced the Montgomery run attack. The duo combined to go 4-for-9 with five RBI including a solo homer from Seitzer in the top of the ninth inning.

Mobile managed to scratch across two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning but failed to produce anymore run support. Three BayBears batters struck out a minimum of three times while a total of five batters struck out at least twice.


Mobile and Montgomery continue their five game series with game three on Sunday set for a first pitch time of 5:05 PM cst.
