Biscuits Shutout BayBears 2-0 on Monday Night

MOBILE, AL - The Mobile BayBears (32-30, 66-65) were shutout for the sixth time in 2015 as the Montgomery Biscuits (40-24, 74-58) blanked Mobile 2-0 on Monday night at Hank Aaron Stadium. With the Biscuits win, Montgomery clinched the Second Half North Division Title and inked a spot in the 2015 Southern League Playoffs. Mobile's loss puts a dent in the BayBears playoff push as Mobile now sis three games back of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos with six games left in the regular season.
 
Montgomery scored both runs in the top of the third inning. Justin O'Conner doubled and scored two batters later on a RBI double from Tyler Goeddel. Two more batters later, Cameron Seitzer drove in the second run, plating Goeddel with a RBI single to put the Biscuits up 2-0.

Twice the BayBears had the bases loaded but failed to drive in a run. Mobile finished the game 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left a total of 10 men on base.

The loss was charged to BayBears RHP Braden Shipley (9-10). The righty allowed just two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out seven in 7.1 innings on the mound.

Five Montgomery pitchers combined to shutout Mobile on just six hits over nine innings.
