2016 Promotions

After an extremely successful 35th anniversary season in Hagerstown MD the Hagerstown Suns return for their 36th campaign highlighted by a huge promotional schedule featuring 4 Bobble head giveaways and 8 fantastic fireworks nights. The promotional schedule will tie in with the 10th anniversary of the Hagerstown Suns affiliation with the Washington Nationals and be celebrated

The 2016 promotional schedule kicks off on opening night Thursday, April 7th with the first ever Parachute Fly In at Municipal Stadium. Sponsored by GWG life, the Fly In will feature Parachutists landing on the field and delivering the game ball. Magnet schedules, doubling as Photo Frames will be handed out opening night, as well as, all weekend long. Also, as part of opening night festivities, the Suns will be welcoming guests via the Red Carpet. Fans will have their picture taken and those pictures will be available on the Hagerstown Suns website to download. Friday & Saturday the 8th & 9ththe first 500 fans 21 and older will receive a special Suns Can Coozie. The weekend wraps up on Sunday the 10th with the first Sunday Funday of the year featuring a Bryce Harper, MVP Poster Giveaway.

April is also Autism Awareness month. On Friday nights during the month of April the Suns will be wearing special Autism Awareness Jerseys. Those same Jerseys will be auctioned off at the end of the month with proceeds benefitting local charities.

As part of our 10th anniversary of the Suns affiliation with their Parent club the Nationals the team will be wearing special Throwback Jerseys on Saturday nights with the Jerseys being auctioned off later in the season.   Additional alternate Jerseys will include our Military Appreciation Jerseys with proceeds to benefit Folds of Honor, and organization that provides annual educational scholarships to the military families of those who have been killed or disabled while in active duty.

Pink Weekend to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness will happen June 16th-19th. And the Suns promise to make it the "Pinkest" ever. Among the many events and giveaways planned include a Motorcycle Parade on the Field, Breast Cancer Survivor Walk, Special Player Jerseys to be auctioned off following the weekend, Pink T-Shirts to conduct a "Pink Out" in the Stadium and many other Pink related activities. Joining the Suns on Saturday night the 18th will be the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents.

A total of 4 Bobble Head giveaways are planned for the 2016 season. May 14th, July 2nd, August 13th& August 27th. 

May 14th is our Hall of Fame Bobble Head which will coincide with the Hall of Fame induction of 2001 Suns player and the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the year Boof Bonser. The Suns will be excited to welcome Boof and his family back to Municipal Stadium that night to greet fans and throw out the first pitch. July 2nd will feature a Lucas Giolito Bobble Head, honoring the Washington Nationals #1 ranked Minor League Player, the #1 ranked pitcher in all of the Minor Leagues, 2014 Hagerstown Sun & South Atlantic League Pitcher of the year. August 13th will be the Hagerstown-Washington County CVB annual "Mystery" Bobble Head and the final Bobble Head with be the Fan Choice to be given away on August 27th. All Bobble Heads will be given to the first 1000 fans.

Other giveaways planned throughout the season include April 23rd Autism Awareness T-Shirt, April 24th Wilmer Difo Poster, May 17th Poster featuring the SAL Bat Person of the Year Brandon Groomes, May 28th 9 card Suns/Nationals Uncut Trading Card Sheet, 

Returning in 2016 are the Suns traditional weekly promotions which include Mega Mondays where fans will have the opportunity to purchase 4 GA tickets loaded with $5.00 each to be used in the stadium for a total of $40.00 (a $16.00 savings.) Tuesdays are "Eats for Seats". If fans come to the game with a canned good they can purchase a ticket for just $4.00. A items donated go to the Maryland food bank. "Wacky" Wednesdays are new this year. A day where anything "Wacky" goes! Thirsty Thursdays are back with $2.00 Budweiser Can products and Nationally known bands rocking the 101.5 FM stage immediately following the games. Fireworks will be the theme of most Fridays again with this year's shows promising to be the biggest and best ever.

Theme nights at Municipal Stadium will return in 2016. Themes this year include College Night, Football Night, Ladies Night, Blues Night, 80's night, Bike Night, Maryland Pride Night, & Jimmy Buffet Night. One of the Suns most anticipated nights will be Star Wars Night, happening on August 12th (may the Force be with you).

Other special events happening at the "Muni" this year will include two Education Days (April 13th & May 18th), College Fair Weekend (April 22nd & 23rd), Nora Roberts Reading Challenge games (April 23rd-24th & May 14th - 15th), Military Appreciation Weekend (May 27th-30th), Christmas in July (July 23rd), Camp Day (July 26th), Fan Appreciation Night (Aug. 27th)

The Suns will also be hosting several events on Non-Game days with those announced at a later date.
