Chris Cooley Comes to Town and the Candy Drop is Back!

Keys Homestand Kicks Off May 10

FREDERICK, Md. -An appearance by former NFL Pro Bowler Chris Cooley and the return of the Candy Drop highlight a great schedule of promotional offering during the upcoming homestand. The fun kicks off on Tuesday, May 10 and will conclude on Monday, May 16. Additionally there will be a pair of fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday.

The weekend portion of the homestand kicks off on Friday Night with Girls Night Out presented by Gold Thumb Jewelry and TLC Bridal Boutique. Gates open at six and first pitch is at 7 p.m as the night will be bridal themed. After the game there will be a Diamond Dig as well as a fireworks show courtesy of Gold Thumb Jewelry and TLC Bridal Boutique.

Saturday at six o'clock is "Halfway to Kickoff Night" and will feature an appearance by former Washington Redskins great Chris Cooley, as the Keys celebrate the midway mark of the NFL offseason. The former tight end will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs from 5-7 p.m.

Originally a third round pick of the Redskins in 2004, Cooley spent his entire career in our nation's capital finishing with 429 receptions while totaling more than 4,700 yards. There will also be postgame fireworks presented by Randy Scritchfield Retirement Planning and the Eisenhower Complex.

Things wrap up on Sunday at two with the third annual "Candy Drop" presented by Advanced Helicopter Concepts. After the game, a helicopter filled with more than 200 lbs of candy will litter the outfield with goodies, giving youngsters a chance to enjoy a sugar rush. It is also a Sunday Funday courtesy of Chili's. From 1-1:30 p.m fans can have a catch in the outfield, while two Keys players will be signing autographs.
