Get Psyched for 90's Night with the Cougars, June 11

Theme Night Co-Hosted by Dennis Haskins of Saved By The Bell
May 19, 2016

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars will welcome Dennis Haskins, best known as Mr. Belding from the popular 90's TV sitcom Saved by the Bell, to Fifth Third Bank Ballpark for 90's Night on Saturday, June 11 when they host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at 6:30 p.m.

Haskins will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and announce that it's time to "Play Ball" after the singing of the National Anthem. Following the pre-game activities, he will take his talents down to the field to help co-host promotions in between innings and join in the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch. After the stretch, he will join Cougars broadcaster, Joe Brand, on the radio for half an inning.

Fans will have the chance to meet Haskins during an autograph session in the Cougars Den Team Store that will take place for a limited time during the game.

90's Night will also serve as the official kick off to the Saturday Concert Series. Every Saturday throughout the summer, fans with a ticket to that night's game will be treated to a free pre-game concert from local bands in the Cougars music garden at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. Too White Crew, an 80's and 90's tribute hip hop group, featuring live music from a six piece band will begin performing at 4:45 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Accompanied by "Fly Girl" dancers, the interactive show will feature the sights, sounds, moves, fashion and antics of hip hop's most colorful era all wrapped up into a family-friendly package.

The music won't stop with Too White Crew, as the game will feature the sounds of the early to mid-90's all night long with dance classics like "The Macarena", pop hits from boy bands including *NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys and rock bands such as Nirvana plus Hootie and the Blowfish . The Cougars walk-up music will also be getting a 90's style makeover for the night.

In-game promotions will take on the 90's theme as well, including a Mario Kart race that will feature contestants competing against each other as Mario, Princess Peach and Toad. Face painting will also be provided by ChicagoFun.com.

Following the game, a fireworks show set to music from the 90's will light up the sky and fans of all ages will have the opportunity to run the bases after the fireworks.
