Spikes, Muckdogs postponed on Monday

Doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday at 11:05 a.m.

BATAVIA, NY - Monday night's scheduled game between the State College Spikes and Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium has been postponed due to wet grounds resulting from storms in the Batavia area earlier in the day.

The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games on Tuesday. The first game will start at 11:05 a.m., with the second game occurring approximately 30 minutes after its conclusion.

State College will send left-hander Dewin Perez (2-1), orginially slated to start on Monday, to the mound for Tuesday's opener. Left-hander John Kilichowski (1-1) will get the ball for the second game.

Right-hander Jose Diaz (0-3) starts on the mound for the Muckdogs in the first game after being scheduled to start on Monday. In the second game, Batavia will send right-hander Travis Neubeck (1-2) to the mound.

After the series in Batavia, the Spikes will have an off day on the New York-Penn League schedule Wednesday before visiting the Williamsport Crosscutters on Thursday.

The Spikes then return to Medlar Field at Lubrano Park to start a five-game homestand on Friday night. Highlights of the homestand include a Myrtle Beach Trip Giveaway along with FIREWORKS presented by VisitMyrtleBeach.com on Friday, as well as the second Bark in the Park Night of the year, presented by Metzger Animal HospitalNEWSRADIO 1390 WRSC and the Centre Daily Times on Saturday.

Sunday, help the Spikes raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer on Paint the Park Pink Night, presented by Mount Nittany Health. The Spikes will take the field in special Pink Cheetah Jerseys, which will be auctioned off to benefit the Breast Care Center at Mount Nittany Medical Center through The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center. In addition, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Pink Hat Giveaway, and fans can enjoy FIREWORKS after the game.

The month of August then starts with Monday Buck Night, presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, followed by Super Splash Day on a $2 Walking Taco Tuesday, presented by B94.5, with a special noon start.
