August 1, 2016

KEIZER, Oregon - MiLB.com announced Monday that Volcanoes outfielder Heath Quinn has been named Northwest League Player of the Week for the week of July 25-31.

During the seven-game stretch against the Everett AquaSox, Eugene Emeralds and Hillsboro Hops, Quinn went 9-for-27 (.333) with two home runs, three doubles and five RBIs. His five extra-base hits were the most by any player during the week.

Quinn, a third-round pick by the San Francisco Giants this year out of Samford University, is currently third in the NWL in batting average (.331), second in slugging percentage (.525), tied for third in home runs (4), and tied for fourth in doubles (11) during the 2016 season.

Quinn becomes the second Volcanoes player to win NWL Player of the Week this year, joining outfielder Bryan Reynolds (July 11-17).

The Volcanoes will be back in action Thursday at Volcanoes Stadium when they host the Spokane Indians at 6:35 p.m. For tickets, call (503) 390-2225 or visit www.volcanoestickets.com.
