Intimidators sweep Suns with 3-2 win

HAGERSTOWN, Md. - The Kannapolis Intimidators (49-67) defeated the Hagerstown Suns (68-48) 3-2 on Wednesday at Municipal Stadium to sweep the Suns and extend their losing streak to five games.

Starting pitcher, Brannon Easterling, held Hagerstown to three hits through six scoreless innings.

Kannapolis out-hit Hagerstown 11-4.

After four scoreless innings, Kannapolis scored their first run in the fifth inning. With one out, Tyler Sullivan singled on a bunt and with two outs, Alex Call singled on a ground ball to right field.   Sullivan scored from second base on a single to left field by Seby Zavala.

With Randy Encarnacion at the plate and two outs in the bottom of the seventh, the Suns scored two runs on wild pitches to take the lead.

The Suns did not hold the lead for long, though. Kannapolis scored two runs in the eighth inning to go back ahead, 3-2.

The intimidators tied the game on a wild pitch and went ahead on Zavala's second RBI single of the night.

Winning pitcher, Dylan Barrow (3-1), did not give up any hits through 2/3 of an inning.

Ian Hamilton pitched the final two innings and earned his fifth save.

Hagerstown will host Asheville for a four game series starting Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET
