Ciuffo, Harris, Honeywell Headed to Fall League
5 Members of 2016 Stone Crabs Will Play in AFL

The Minor League regular season has ended and although the Stone Crabs missed out on the playoffs, a few of their players will be suiting up for action in the Arizona Fall League this October as part of the Peoria Javelinas. Current Stone Crabs Nick Ciuffo, Greg Harris and Diego Castillo are on the roster along with former 2016 Stone Crabs and current Rays top prospects Brent Honeywell and Justin Williams. The Fall League opens play on October 11th.

Ciuffo, 21, was selected in the first round of the 2013 draft by the Rays and he was limited to 59 games this season with the Stone Crabs due to a finger injury he suffered in early June. He finished the season hitting .262 with eight doubles and 15 RBIs. He threw of 19 of 27 base stealers.

Harris, 22, was recently named to the Florida State League Postseason All-Star Team after going 10-6 with a 3.12 ERA this season with the Stone Crabs. Harris led the FSL with 140 strikeouts in 150 innings of work.

Castillo, 22, split time between the Stone Crabs and Class 'A' Bowling Green this season, going a combined 3-6 with a 2.98 ERA. He struck out 67 batters in 60.1 innings pitched.

Honeywell, ranked by MLB.com as the Rays No. 2 prospect, was promoted to Double-A Montgomery after going 4-1 with a 2.41 ERA as a member of the Stone Crabs in 10 starts. The right-hander continued to succeed at the higher level, posting a 2.28 ERA in 10 starts for the Biscuits.

Williams, 21, also was promoted to Double-A from Port Charlotte this season after hitting .330 through 51 games as a Stone Crab. In Mongtomery, Williams finished the year hitting .250 with seven doubles, two triples, six homers and 28 RBIs. MLB.com ranks Williams as the No. 15 prospect in the Rays organization.
