FRISCO, TEXAS (November 18, 2016) - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, today announced, in conjunction with Toys for Tots, that the club will host its inaugural "Winter Wonderland" at Dr Pepper Ballpark on Friday, December 9 from 4:00-10:00 p.m. The free-to-attend, open-to-the-public event will feature caroler and appearances from Santa and Mrs. Claus, and fans can drop off unwrapped toys to donate to Toys for Tots.
Like last year, fans can bring unwrapped toys to the home plate gate, where Marines with Toys for Tots will help fans unload their donations. Anyone who brings a toy will receive 10% off at the Riders Outpost.
New this year, however, is that the gates of Dr Pepper Ballpark will open to the public for this festive event. At the Winter Wonderland, fans can take carriage rides (from 5:30-7:30 p.m.), hear the Vocal Magic carolers sing (from 5:00-8:00 p.m.), and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, accompanied by their reindeer (from 5:30-7:30 p.m.). Beginning at 6:30, RiderVision, the state-of-the-art video board at Dr Pepper Ballpark, will screen Christmas classics.
During the event, concessions stands will sell $1.00 beers, Dr Pepper products, hot dogs, nachos, chips, popcorn, cracker jacks, coffee, and, of course, hot chocolate. Both the Primrose Schools and RoughRiders playgrounds will be open along with inflatables and more.
The 2017 Frisco RoughRiders season begins on April 6, when the RoughRiders host the Springfield Cardinals at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
